HotelTonight – You'll Love These Nashua Hotels

Tucked away in New Hampshire's picturesque Merrimack Valley is a pretty little town called Nashua. I will be the first to admit the fact that I knew nothing about Nashua prior to visiting, and I didn't originally plan on visiting the city in the first place. However, after a few on my travel plans were canceled, I knew I had to stay flexible and spontaneous. That led me to the Merrimack Valley, and ultimately, to Nashua. This charming little town swept me off my feet right away, and I knew I wanted to spend more than just a few hours exploring Nashua, and that's what led me to booking a hotel in Nashua, New Hampshire. I pulled up the HotelTonight app on my phone and quickly searched for hotels in Nashua. Minutes later, I had booked a lovely hotel near downtown Nashua, and I was ready to experience all that this town had to offer.

The Ballpark

I quickly discovered that locals are quite proud of their baseball. No, they don't have a major league team, but that doesn't stop them from enjoying nights out at the Holman Stadium. This historic stadium was built back in 1937, and it still remains one of the town's greatest sources of entertainment. Locals love cheering on the home team, Nashua Silver Knights of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, and the energy in the stadium during one of the games is electric – I would know. I was lucky enough to be in town for a home game, and it was one of the liveliest, most memorable experiences of my trip. And you bet I rooted for the home team.

Mine Falls Park

You can't escape the beauty of nature when you're in Nashua. Everywhere you turn, there are tall, green trees (or orange and yellow trees, if you visit in the fall), so naturally I wanted to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Fortunately for me, there are plenty of great parks and trails in and around Nashua that made this possible. I decided to spend an afternoon at Mine Falls Park, a 325-acre park that features the Nashua River, a canal system, forest, wetlands and open fields. There's a little bit of everything in Mine Falls Park, and it's a great place to go biking, boating, fishing and even cross country skiing in the winter months.

Pheasant Lane Mall

I don't love to spend my time inside malls when I travel, but I desperately needed some extra clothes (my luggage had been lost by the airline). So I visited the Pheasant Lane Mall at the recommendation of locals. This is the epicenter of commerce in Nashua, and Pheasant Lane boasts over 140 stores and restaurants that attract hoards of locals day in and day out. I found exactly what I needed in this bustling mall, and I got a taste for the local lifestyle and culture while I was there.

Main Street

The heart of downtown Nashua is Main Street, and it was certainly my favorite street in town. Main Street is lined with beautiful old red brick buildings, which are now home to a number of shops and eateries. This historic downtown drag is pretty and easy to explore on foot, so that's exactly what I did. I spent a morning wandering down Main Street, popping into various stores and tasting delicious food at the popular local cafes and restaurants.

The Bridge

At the end of Main Street is the iconic Main Street Bridge. While you can cross this beloved bridge anytime and enjoy beautiful views of the river and downtown, the best time to visit Main Street Bridge is on a Sunday. Every Sunday, the Main Street Bridge becomes packed with vendors and shoppers for the weekly farmers market. It was certainly one of the most picturesque settings for a farmers market I had ever seen, and I was more than happy to try out the local produce and baked goods while meandering across the bridge.
